The worms have weathered another winter. They are fruitful and multiplying in the wormery munching away on whatever I put in there.
Worms are catching on. Increasingly people and companies are using worms to help them cope with waste.
Here's a piece my friend Tom passed on. It's about a printing company in Cornwall using worms in their waste management efforts. St Ives
And here's something about Sutton's War on Waste from the BBC News site. Shows that not everyone has a backward, 20th century view about dealing with the real problems around waste management.

When I lived in South Africa, bought an old house with a huge piece of neglected land.Waist high weeds, etc. In preparation for a vege garden long trenches were made, all weeds and ash from burnt woody bits added as we cleared. My local bank generously [?] gave me black bags of shredded paper--this too added. All this in the Autumn.3 months later we investigated 1 of the trenches to find 100s of earthworms having a great time. With the help of very old manure from a local farm we had a bumper crop of every imaginable vege. From A for aubergine to Z for zucchini.
